LocknCharge’s Newest Charging Cart and Charging Stations for Mobile Devices Support School 1:1 Programs and Flexible Learning Environments

Four Products Offer Secure Compact Choices for K-12 Schools to Quickly Connect Students and Teachers Every Day with Ready Mobile Devices

PHILADELPHIA, June 29, 2015 – K-12 mobile device management specialist LocknCharge showcased at ISTE 2015 four new products for safely storing, syncing and charging mobile devices at schools, especially those with 1:1 programs and flexible learning environments. Optimized for small deployments and displayed in LocknCharge’s booth #1400 are the Carrier 20 Cart, iQ 10 Charging Station™, iQ 10 Sync Charge Station™, and Carrier 10 Charging Station™. They enable teachers to maximize students’ learning time using mobile devices at school as the devices go from the LocknCharge Cart or Station into students’ hands fast and fully charged. Students can reliably work on research, educational apps, online programs or peer collaboration, almost instantly on their devices. Featuring five-slot Baskets by LocknCharge, the Charging Stations and Cart provide portability for mobile devices that traditional cabinets do not. LocknCharge makes the process of managing mobile devices at schools easy and invisible to students and teachers.

The new compact in size Carrier 20 Cart is designed for easy transporting through tight hallways and can efficiently store, sync and simultaneously charge as many as 20 mobile devices at once. The universal Cart gives schools flexibility, since it works with iPad®, iPad Air™ or iPad Mini™ devices and most other tablets, laptops and Chromebooks.

The three new Charging Stations can be installed on a desktop or wall and offer a smaller but highly secure option to help schools store, charge, secure and distribute as many as 10 devices. They can simultaneously charge 10 devices in about the same time it would take to charge just one. The iQ 10 Charging Station, Carrier 10 Charging Station and iQ 10 Sync Charge Station, feature LocknCharge’s proprietary hand-carry Baskets. Built to last and protect a school’s valuable mobile device investment, the Charging Stations include a lifetime warranty.

The Charging Stations are designed to go where other charging stations can’t, with Baskets by LocknCharge that allow educators to share and safely distribute the devices that are stored inside between multiple classrooms. They also enable students to assist in the distribution of devices, so teaching can happen faster. The Baskets are interchangeable with LocknCharge Carts that use the same Basket ecosystem, such as the iQ 30 Cart™. Baskets by LocknCharge are designed to accommodate tablet devices with or without cases.

“The number of mobile devices in schools is growing at a phenomenal rate, making 1:1 programs and flexible learning environments a more common reality,” said Steve Ledbetter, President of LocknCharge. “Our high-quality Charging Carts and Stations that work with any mobile devices that schools are using increase the likeliness of a successful rollout. For example, LocknCharge helped the Coachella Valley Unified School District deploy 20,000 iPad devices securely and efficiently, using our Charging Carts, to every student and teacher in a 1:1 program implementation. However, schools with smaller numbers of devices also need to keep their investment safely charged and ready. We have some great options! The iQ 10 Charging Station and Carrier 20 Cart are our top picks for schools with smaller spaces and deployments.

The Carrier 20 Cart, as well as the iQ 10 Charging Station, Carrier 10 Charging Station and iQ 10 Sync Charge Station are designed for compatibility and solve the problem of storing, charging and protecting iPad devices, tablets, Chromebooks and laptops in schools. The rolling, high-quality steel Cart and stationary Charging Stations make organizing and charging mobile devices in the classroom simple. The Cart and Charging Stations all ease and speed up device distribution and sharing through the ergonomic Baskets by LocknCharge. The Cart includes four removable Baskets that hold up to five devices each and is designed to enable several people to access it at once. The smaller Charging Stations each contain two Baskets. The signature Baskets are light and easy to carry to a different room, if rooms are sharing devices, or upstairs without moving the Cart.

Charging and Sync Stations
LocknCharge offers stationary security for up to 10 iPads, tablets, Chromebooks and laptops with its three new locking “Charging” and “Sync Charge” Stations – the iQ 10 Charging Station, iQ 10 Sync Charge Station, and Carrier 10 Charging Station. The combination of welded-steel construction, a mounting-kit and a hardened steel padlock, protects a school’s devices while they are not in use. Any wall, desk or bench can be used to securely install these Stations, which weigh 30.4 or 44 lbs., for charging mobile devices. The Charging Stations are designed to be flexible and adapt to each school’s environment with dimensions starting at 15.8 inches wide, 12.6 inches long, and 16 inches high for the iQ 10 Stations. Secure charging is provided by an externally accessible power outlet, which enables charging of devices while they are safely locked in the Charging Station. Each of the three Charging Stations includes two five-slotted LocknCharge hand-carry Baskets, for quick and easy distribution of devices.

The iQ 10 Sync Charge Station has the added ability to sync 10 devices simultaneously with top of the line syncing technology. Also, this Station is one of the first LocknCharge products to include LED status indicators that instantly tell teachers and students the charging and syncing status of each device while they’re connected.

Carrier 20 Cart Features
Efficient charging is essential for iPads and tablets in school settings to be productive, ensuring they are ready when students need them. The new Cart can charge up to 20 devices simultaneously.

Teachers or IT administrators can easily secure the Cart and keep their devices safe at the end of the school day. The Cart features secure doors that have two locking points to protect the school’s valuable mobile technology investment safely inside. The Cart can also be chained to the floor overnight, with the included floor anchor, locking it in place so it can’t be moved or stolen.

The Carrier 20 Cart is equipped with four larger, removable five-slot Baskets by LocknCharge, so teachers can deploy as many as 20 iPad devices with ease. The Cart dimensions in inches are: 36.85(H) x 26.85(L) x 19.95(W). Some additional features are:

  • New larger Baskets by LocknCharge. The Carrier 20 Cart is equipped with new larger Baskets, allowing it to fit bigger devices. Teachers can store and safely distribute 13-inch Chromebooks, tablets or iPad devices. For any devices that are too large to fit in the Baskets, there is a three-level adjusting storage shelf. This allows users to place an optional Stainless Steel Device Rack into the Cart’s storage area. The rack accommodates up to 17-inch laptops.
  • A Remote Control is included so that the Cart can be turned on from almost anywhere in the classroom.
  • The secure soft-closing, sliding lid doubles as an additional workspace holding up to 44 lbs.
  • Cable management is simplified for quick and easy set up.
